ALMA + MARGO is a hair and creative space with salons in Covent Garden and Shoreditch.

We started ALMA + MARGO because we wanted to make something of our own.

Not a copy of another salon. Not a place where everyone is expected to work in exactly the same way.

We wanted somewhere that combines the precision and care we value in Japanese hairdressing with the energy, openness and creative culture of London.

Our clients include artists, designers, musicians, people from fashion, creatives, professionals, families and people who simply want a good haircut. We like that mix.

We are looking for a full-time hair stylist to join the team.

You don't need to fit a particular mould. We're interested in people who are good at what they do, curious about what they could do next, and enjoy working with people.

You might already have a loyal clientele, or you might be building one. You might be new to London. What matters most is your attitude, your craft and your willingness to grow.

We'd particularly like to meet you if you:

• enjoy creating individual styles rather than repeating the same formula
• like working with different people, hair types and cultures
• are curious about London and its creative community
• have an interest in art, fashion, music, design or other creative fields
• care about detail and good service
• enjoy working independently but also being part of a team
• would like to help shape what ALMA + MARGO becomes

For experienced stylists with an existing clientele, we can discuss commission and working arrangements individually.

For stylists who are newer to London or still building their clientele, we also have a pathway into the team with the opportunity to develop towards commission as your experience, clientele and business grow.

We'd rather talk to you about what makes sense than force everyone into the same arrangement.

We're also looking for a part-time nail technician to help us develop something new. Our nail department is still young, which means there is room to make it your own. Japanese and Korean-inspired nail art, thoughtful manicures and pedicures, new ideas, new services - we're open to seeing where it goes.

If you've ever thought, “It would be great if a salon did this…” we'd like to hear it.

You don't have to arrive with everything figured out. We'd like to build this part of ALMA + MARGO together.

Our Covent Garden salon is tucked away on Stukeley Street, surrounded by theatres, restaurants and the energy of central London.

Our Shoreditch studio, near Old Street, has a slightly different character. Alongside hair, it has become a small creative and cultural space, hosting exhibitions, workshops, music and other events.

The two spaces aren't identical - and we don't want them to be.

We're interested in allowing each place to develop its own personality while sharing the same ALMA + MARGO spirit.

We care about quality without taking ourselves too seriously.

We like things that are calm but not boring, sophisticated but not precious, creative but not chaotic.

We want our clients to feel comfortable. We want our team to feel comfortable too. We don't believe in rushing people through appointments just to fit more into a day. We believe in good conversations, good work, good spaces and enough room to think. And we're interested in what happens outside the salon as much as inside it.

We don't have a rigid five-year plan.

We want ALMA + MARGO to grow, but carefully. To remain independent. To keep experimenting. To create beautiful spaces and work with interesting people.

Maybe that means more salons. Maybe more exhibitions. Maybe more collaborations, events, workshops or things we haven't thought of yet.

The important thing is that whatever comes next should feel like us.

Not like somebody else's salon.
